Which WordPress version you are using?

i tested in WP 3.4.2 and in WP 3.3.1 in the same website (wp 3.4.2 installed online, 3.3.1 locally in my computer)

i tried to disable all plugins, but i receive always the same message.
I have wordpress and a forum installed in the same database, with different prefixes:
    "forum_" for forum
    "wp_" for WP

Do you think it could be the problem?

Add this table in your database and check again

CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS wp_sections (
    section_id int(11) NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT,
    section_identifier varchar(256) DEFAULT NULL,
    section_name varchar(256) DEFAULT NULL,
    section_meta_key varchar(256) NOT NULL,
    section_meta_value longtext NOT NULL,
    length tinyint(4) NOT NULL,
    created_by int(11) NOT NULL,
    created_on int(11) NOT NULL,
    theme_file varchar(128) NOT NULL,
    status tinyint(4) NOT NULL,
    PRIMARY KEY (section_id)
    ) ENGINE=InnoDB DEFAULT CHARSET=utf8 AUTO_INCREMENT=1 ;

It looks like permission related issue. May be your database user doesn't have sufficent permission to create table.
