    Maybe… we’ll look into it.

I think the challenge is the image file would not be copied to all the sub-blogs, so it would be linked to from the root site. We’ll look into it.

    thanks!

I need this feature too. How to duplicate featured image and custom field to sub-blogs? It’s so weird if I have to rewrite all of that for each post.

    Any new ideas?

    Thanks!!!!

I would love to have this feature.

I started working on this. I have everything working except, as you suggest mirmillo, getting the actual file copied or symbolically linked to the original. Kind of the most important part 😉

Out of time for now, but I’ll keeping working on it.

That feature would be awesome. I actually had another plugin developed that copies the images. That feature actually works well, but the rest of the functions don’t work that well. Maybe I could send it to you and you can copy some of the functionality? Let me know.

    Hi Guys,
while I was waiting for the new version of Mu Multipost to duplicate the featured image, I found what I can call “The Best Plugin for Multipost in WP3” ThreeWP Broadcast

The new version is simply AWESOME!!!

    It allows you to:
    – Broadcast Custom Fields
    – Broadcast Featured Image
    – Great management of posts from the original blog:

-you can see in the posts overview which sub-blogs the post is appearing on
-you can link and unlink the original post from the “children” posts in the other sub-blogs
-after you publish a post, you can add that post to sub-blogs simply checking the sub-blog box and updating it
-you can remove the post from each sub-blog independently from the posts overview just clicking on the “trash” button below the single sub-blog
-you still have the ability to keep the post independent from his parent just unlinking it.

I’m not sure if I was so clear, what I can suggest is to try it and find out what awesome job it does!!!!

Thanks Mu Multipost Developers for working on it but your plugin is too limited.

This sounds like a winner to me!

To be clear, the initial Multipost plugin was created to simply meet a single need and shared as I saw a few others asking for the same thing. Adding features to it has, sadly, been limited by my time and the time of others that generously jumped in to fill in the gaps.

If someone has created a plugin that’s more useful, I’m all for it.

Question for those invested: Should Multipost MU be “discontinued”?

    Plugin Author mirmillo

    (@mirmillo)

That does sound like a good plugin, we’ll check it out.

But as far as MultiPost MU, it fits our needs now. Especially after we’ve made some updates to it. I know tmuka has made some additional updates to address some of our own needs as well as some of the feature requests in the forums. I think he is close to making a new release.

We’ll have to check out that other plugin, but today, this is the plugin we’ve built our app on and will continue to use and enhance.

Makes total sense. If this plugin is already integrated into a working system.

btw: Thanks to you (mirmillo) and tmuka for taking this a running with it!

HungryMedia – I have a question for you regarding another plugin of yours. How can I contact you?

Ben, I responded to your email.
