I am looking for a plugin which allows the non coder to create content blocks or multiple columns. I do not want them to have to enter tags. Does this plugin allow this?

Yes ! (if I understand you correctly) :)

After installing the plugin, use your editor to add <?php the_block('blockname'); ?> outside your loop in the page or template. Back in your Dashboard you will now have the same number of content areas as you added.

There is a disconnect to communicate well with non coders. This plugin is for those who understand the use of tags/php in themes. Unfortunately this plugin seems quite limited in creating an assortment of multi-columns on the same page.

This plugin is not meant for just creating multiple columns. We ourselves notices that we, more often than not, needed multiple content blocks to be flexible. You should be able to place them anywhere you want, not just for multiple columns (next to the original content).

Also, this is not meant for non-coders. That would mean the plugin would be less flexible and required more setting up in the back-end than would be desired.

This is meant for coders who want their client to be able to edit multiple blocks of content, without being able to screw up the lay-out of the website. You don't want to create multiple columns by placing HTML in your editor.

I hope you understand better what this plugin is meant for. If you have any suggestions to make it better, I would like to refer you to Git: https://github.com/trendwerk/multiple-content-blocks/

    Hello ilmattiapascal,

Go with Ether Content Builder - great stuff. Check out the product at TalkingManuals

I am looking for a competing plugin and have not found one. PageBuilder and Visual Builder are not up to the functions of Ether Content Builder.

    Hi ilmattiapascal,

When you add the_block('Name') to page.php, it should display an extra content block on any page that uses this template.

Do you see a metabox on the edit page that says "Multiple content blocks", or do you see nothing at all?

    Regards,
    Harold
