   I am trying to use the <!--more--> tag in the multiple content block areas. Is this functionality not available?

   Has anyone used this successfully or dealt with this?

   That function is only available for posts.

   Multiple content blocks only adds a new content area for text, picture, video etc. to content on pages - or content on posts.

   Agreed. If you really really need this, use wp_trim_words.
