Nice fork, but could you change the function names to different ones, so as not to interfere with the original plugin?
On the WP.org directory, we prefer plugins to use distinct prefixes if possible, so that somebody installing multiple plugins doesn't get function already defined type of errors.
Thanks, I am going to update the function names as soon as possible.
I didn't replace them in the first release intentionally, as I thought the plugins would have been excluding each other and sharing the settings.
After the porting to MooTools, almost everything has been kept untouched.
But I'm planning to add some further options in a near future release, like a default avatar (the same as in the comments settings), custom sizes, etc...
Obviously this would require to redefine the functions, but if you're interested I could send you the code.
Anyway, if you're about to implement MooTools, I'm going to discontinue the plugin, otherwise we may arrange a sync release in the schedule.

I have no plans to modify my plugin to use MooTools. I prefer jQuery.
Well, a new version has been released, with some customization options available.
I have changed the function names from gravbox to moo_gravbox.
Obviously, feel free to borrow the code if you find something useful
