   Just wanted to say thank you for this plugin! It does exactly what it says on the tin. Can't beleive WordPress doesn't have this working functionality out of the box.
   I spent ages trying to get author notifications working with the standard WordPress installation and despite all the documentation and forum posts I was unable to do so. I installed this plugin and it instantly started working!

   What ^fairpoint said, this plugin ROCKS. How can this be absent from WP?
