   Would it be possible to add the tag is_retina for displays with high pixel density? Or tags for internet connection speeds like is_slow, is_fast, etc.

   Second this. Having a function like is_retina() would be incredible useful for creating responsive images...

   Agreed. It would be rather useful but right now I do not know of any server side ways to detect this. Have you come across anything? Everything I have found to date requires JavaScript.
