Meteor Slides
Thumbnail of slides in backend (10 posts)

First of all, I would like to say that Meteor Slides
has been very handy for the creating multiple on page sliders!
Very glad that I came across it :)

I have seen all the videos, and searched for results related to my topic, but I am wondering if it is possible to create/see a smaller thumbnail of the slides in the backend? Or did I install the plugin incorrectly somehow...

Right now, if my slideshow size is 400x236 and I uploaded a couple of images (400x236) to be used as slides in the slidshow, I get a list of the full size images in the backend under "Slides", as you can imagine, even with just a few images, there is quite a bit of scrolling to find and edit the images titles and such because of the dimension of my slides..

It'll be great if anyone can provide a solution to this, perhaps some code to implement when uploading images?

    Thanks in advance!

That's strange, you are seeing these large images on the overview page that lists the slides? This page is supposed to show smaller slide thumbnails that are 250px wide. It should look like this: http://www.jleuze.com/wp-content/uploads/slides.jpg

Possible you have something in your theme's functions.php file that is affecting the featured images, or a conflict with another plugin. I would try deactivating your other plugins and testing that page to see if one of them is conflicting.

Thanks JLeuze, but no, I don't have anything in my function.php that is affecting the feature images, and I've tried deactivating my other plugins to see if there is conflict. The images of the slides are still the same size...

The thumbnail is 250px wide, but is there a limit on the height of the thumbnails in the overview page?

There isn't a limit on the height, the height is setup to scale with the width. So if your slides are 400x236, then the slide thumbnails should be 250x148.

Actually, the images are scaling to 250px, except the images that I uploaded are 400x236, with 400px being the height of the image, instead of the width.

Is it possible to set the height and width to scale to say like 20% rather than to 250px?

    Thanks!

It'd be tough for you to edit that without hacking the plugin, which means you'd lose the changes when you update it. If the thumbnails are getting in your way you could turn off the slide images in the "Screen Options".

It's not a big issue, just that it would have been nicer if the thumbnail are much smaller than the scaled to 250px.

Thanks JLeuze for your quick replies!

I haven't tested it with portrait formatted slides like that, I'll try it and see if there is something I can do to limit the height.
