It seems the slideshow settings are on a site-wide basis, rather than a per-slideshow basis. Am I missing something, or is this the general idea?

It seems that these should be able to be set, or at least overridden, on a per slideshow basis. I can’t currently conceivably use a slideshow in a widget and one on a page, because they have to be the same size (in addition to the same effects, have the same # of slides, etc)

    Other feature suggestions:
The widget slideshow selector would greatly benefit from being a dropdown of available terms rather than manually entering a tag that matches one of your slideshows (or at least display the list of options)

A button to TinyMCE where i select which slideshow to show with a similar dropdown would also be helpful.

The plugin works great, and I like how you used custom post types and taxonomies to accomplish a unique feature. Great job, overall.

Hi, thanks for trying Meteor Slides. The slideshow settings are the default settings for all slideshows. Out of the box it is really geared towards one slideshow, which is what it is used for most of the time.

But those settings are just the defaults and they can be overridden by a specific slideshow using metadata. With metadata you could change any options on the settings page and tap into a lot more options that aren’t listed there.

The only caveat is for the height and width. The slide images are cropped to the dimensions in the settings, so if you want more than one size, make sure the larger size is the default, and any smaller images you upload for smaller slideshows would be untouched.

I would like to add a slideshow dropdown to the widget in a future release, that would be handy. Not sure about the shortcode button though, for most users, they only have one slideshow, so most of the time that button would be unused. But maybe as an option that could be switched on if needed.
