hey. i am new at this and hope it is an easy fix. my brain has swollen to double it's normal size, which is one third. All of my nav links open pages under the slideshow and i want to open new pages without a slideshow on the page. how can i make this happen? i LOVE this plugin, just would only like it on my home page, not every page. thanks.

Hi Ryan, thanks for trying my plugin, I like your slides!

It looks like you have the slideshow in your header, the header.php file, which is sitewide and loads on all of your pages.

To get it on just the homepage, you need to either add the template tag to the page template you are using on your homepage, or add the short code to that page's content.

You might find the screencast I recorded helpful.

Thanks for the quick response. Again, i am a newbie so I am not sure where to put the code if it isn't in the header.php file so that it is only the homepage and not site wide. I actually watched your tutorial before I installed the plugin and I found it was really helpful. I will continue to muck about with it, if you have any hints or suggestions I would really appreciate it. Thanks again for such a great plugin!

I would try using the short code instead of the template tag. The template tag will load on every page that uses that template, so you would have to add it to a custom page template just for your homepage.

But the short code is added to a specific page or post's content in the editor, so you won't have issues with it showing up on each page.

Make sure you have your site setup with a static frontpage, and set your homepage up to use the full width page template that your theme should have.

Then add the Meteor Slides short code to your homepage's content, use the HTML editor so that extra code isn't wrapped around the short code:

    [meteor_slideshow]
