Meteor Slides
[resolved] Mouseover causes "next" link to appear (5 posts)

    I have installed the meteor plugin and am having an issue with the mouseover effect. When I mouseover the slide a link reading "next" appears. This can be seen on my test page at http://www.dubhlinnpub.com/new-slider. I assume this is a conflict with my theme but I am at a loss where to start looking.

    Can someone point me in the right direction?

    I found the following bit of html which I assume is the root cause.

    <li id="meteor-next" class="next"><a href="#next">Next</a></li>

    How come just the image doesn't appear?

    The text shouldn't show up, just the graphic, this is a conflict with your theme. Add this to your theme's stylesheet to fix it:

    .meteor-nav .next a {
        float: none;
        text-align: left;
    }

    .meteor-slides ul.meteor-nav {
        padding: 0 !important;
    }

    Thanks, that worked.

    Do you mind providing a short explanation as to why this fixed it?

    Thanks.

    Because there is CSS in your theme that is targeting the UL element and .next class with rules that aren't stated in the slideshow stylesheet, or have a higher priority than the rules in Meteor Slides. So sometimes the theme's CSS has to be dialed back or the plugin's CSS beefed up to play together nicely.
