Elegant Themes Simple Press Compatibility Issue (6 posts)

    Hi,
Just an FYI - this plugin looks so cool that I just installed it. But it borked my dropdown menu in Elegant Themes' Simple Press theme. (man, that sounded redundant). All the dropdowns vanished, and menu styling went awry.

That theme, and others from Elegant, is based on Superfish, so I would assume that there is some conflict with a library that's being loaded. I didn't have Elegant's slider enabled, btw. It could conceivably be a CSS issue, too, but I didn't pursue it.

Not a big deal at all, I'll probably try the plugin on a different theme. I just thought this information may be useful, or save somebody some steps.

    Cheers, Dave

Thanks for the heads up Dave, if they are using Superfish for the menu this was likely a JavaScript conflict, but I'm sure it would be an easy fix.

    Thanks, Josh,
And I'm sure it would be an easy fix.... for you! :-)

I had been using Auto Thickbox, which automagically made a simple slideshow from pics on a page if you set up your pics correctly. I found that Auto Thickbox Plus (I think it's a fork), works fine with it (and WP 3.3.1). It's just pop-ups rather than a slideshow per se, but it does the job.

I'll definitely revisit your plugin sometime soon.

    Thx, D

Auto Thickbox sounds kind of like the Lightbox Plus plugin which has a lightbox slideshow option, I use that plugin a lot.

    Josh,
    I appreciate the tip! You're a stand-up guy!

Visitors: I suggest you hire Josh!
