MediaElement.js - HTML5 Video & Audio Player
Set player width in percentages (8 posts)

    Hello,

Working on a new responsive site and would like to be able to set the width of the player in percentages instead of pixels. I know you can add the width="px"parameter to the shortcode, but doing so with width="100%"just sets it to the default. Is there some way to do this to keep the theme responsive?

    Thanks!

I'm also looking for a way to have the plugin work in responsive design.

    No help on this one?

For anyone else wondering, I've looked elsewhere and have found another plugin that works pretty great, but still has this same limitation. I just wrote to them with the same question so we'll see if we get anywhere. A response either way is always greatly appreciated.

No replies from the other plugin developers, either. Rather frustrating.

    @jefftovar,

    Good call - I am with <massive_h1>YOU</massive_h1>.

I am interested as well, it's funny because I was just looking into it right now.
I tried exactly what you tried.

I want it responsive, YES !!!

I also want a smaller version of this player -- a bit more streamlined if you will.

What is this other plugin you are referring to Jeff??? I am curious. Haiku?

Right now I am using the jPlayer on my site: http://www.louisg.org/

I am not sure what you are even asking, perhaps that's the reason nobody is answering. Also you got to do some leg work yourself and make an effort which motivates developers to help you out.

You do know that there are sites that already have this? Instead of reinventing the wheel, why not just go there and see how they've made responsive sites that use this plugin and adapt their code to your project.

Here is a hint. Just about every theme by Kriesi uses this js file and his last 5 themes are responsive.

you need to set width & height both.

if you do height="100%" width="100%" it will be responsive to width of outer container. try this.
