Just experienced a problem with the plugin, where it is no longer playing MP3 files. It was working one day and the next not.
Using the following shortcode:
[audio mp3="http://example.com/folder/folder/folder/file.mp3"]
When looking at the post/page where the above is used a black box is displayed instead of the normally seen player.
Thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

I had the same problem (using plugin version 2.1.0). I downgraded to version 2.0.6.2, and it works perfectly. I only observed the problem in Safari (version 5.0.1 on a Mac). Version 2.1.0 worked fine in Chrome (9.0.597.107 - Mac), so it doesn't seem to be a Webkit issue, just Safari. The flash fall-forward for FireFox also works fine for me in version 2.1.0 (though I usually also include an ogg = for FF users).
WordPress version 3.1
I'm having a very similar issue on this site:

The audio has inconsistent results. Sometimes it will play others it will not. I've tried changing parameters like preloading or not and it doesn't seem to make a difference. I have version 2.1.2 of the plug-in and it's running on a 3.1.2 WordPress install.

There is an update to 2.1.4 which makes some changes to the Flash audio shim as well as Mac/Safari (which is strangely much less reliable than PC/Safari). It should kick in later today.
Hi John,
Your plugin is a must-have! Thank you for your great work!
Just wanted to check-in about the 2.1.4 update. I've downloaded it from your site (looks like the WordPress one hasn't been updated in a while) BUT I don't know what to do with the files. How do I upgrade my MediaElements.js WordPress plugin so the player will play the mp3s in Safari as well?
Maybe there are instructions somewhere and I missed it?
Thanks much!
Thanks John. I don't the update quite yet on WordPress, but I do see the build on your site. Is it safe to replace the relevant files within the 2.1.2 wordpress plug-in folder with the new build or should I just wait for the official plug-in release?

I've upgraded to 2.1.5 but the audio is still not playing in Safari... will play in Firefox and Chrome, no problem. Thoughts?

Hi!
Am unable to get any sound in either Safari 5.0.5, or FireFox 5.0 for Mac... trying to use this for mp3 audio.

Using v 2.1.5 and WP 3.1.4
Any ideas?
