[resolved] Custom URL Slugs - Need More Options (3 posts)

    Hi,

    Currently I have an old store application (written in VBScript!) that I am migrating over to WordPress and I hope to use MarketPress as well. Since I have an established storefront (10+ years) and have invested a fair amount of money in SEO optimization and marketing, I'm keen on keeping my URL's exactly as they are. However, the store URL slugs interface doesn't give me enough room for customization. I need these custom URL's:

    Store Base: domain.com/furniture
    Products List: domain.com/furniture (same as above)
    Product Category: domain.com/furniture/category/[category-slug]
    Product Page: domain.com/furniture/product/[product-slug]

    I also have parent categories, "Antiques" and "Reproductions," so I need to use these URL's, too:

    domain.com/antique-furniture
    domain.com/reproduction-furniture
    domain.com/antique-furniture/category/[category-slug]
    domain.com/reproduction-furniture/category/[category-slug]

    As for pagination, I'm not sure what your plugin does but I need it to just be, for example, domain.com/furniture/2. If trailing slashes are a must, I can deal with that by just adding a 301 rule for anything without the trailing slash but I would prefer to keep my URL's mostly intact with this migration.

    Any help that you could provide would be appreciated, even if all you can do is point me to the files that I need to edit to make this happen, as this would at least save me time.

    Thanks!

    Hey, Comrade,

    in marketpress.php line 698 you should change :

    'rewrite' => array('slug' => $settings['slugs']['store'] . '/' . $settings['slugs']['products'] . '/' . $settings['slugs']['category'])

    to

    'rewrite' => array('slug' => $settings['category']

    it will produse 'product category' slugs instead in url.
    hope this will help.
