MailPress
Doesn't Create Mail per Post except for Admin (11 posts)

I have installed and configured Mailpress to send notifications per post just to test. I also have the batch set up to send every hour. When I create a new post without a featured image, there are no problems; the mail gets created and shows in the 'Mails' section, and is queued for sending. If I create a post with a featured image, however, it does not create a mail at all. I've searched everywhere for what could be the cause of this, but have not had any success. I am using multiple plugins, and have tested with them disabled with the same result.

    Hi Renaut,

I'm sorry; I'm using twentyeleven as my Mailpress theme, and the modified twentyeleven as my WordPress Theme.

I'm having a similar problem. I'm using the latest mailpress and WP 3.4.1, but no posts are sent out. The test function works fine, but there's no auto sends happening.

I haven't tested featured images, but I know an email is not going out for a post without one.

I'm also using a customized theme from MP, but as I said, the test emails are fine.

    Follow Up:

I can't prove this was my MailPress problem, but my client had renamed the default post category and then created a mailing list by the same exact name. Form what I could determine from the logs, no posts were ever found to be processed by the system.

Well, with the mailing list as it was and the indexes and keys the way the were in the db tables, I assumed that was the reason MP could not find any posts to process.

So, I set about to create another category for posts and create different mailing list, yada, yada, once I posted to the new cat, the newsletter arrived in my email.

Lesson/Suggestion: don't create a mailing list names exactly like a post category.

I currently use WP 3.5, Mailpress 5.3, Theme Graphene 1.8.2, Theme TwentyTwelve for Mailpress.

I have the same problem described by audreyb81 in his post.

I will try to publish post without "featured image" to verify (I think it's true, I'm verified the last 5 mails sended and all are without featured image).

I confirm that the problem is related to the "featured image".
If I do not load the "featured image" the mail is successfully sent otherwise the mail is not sent.

I've just noticed exactly the same problem on my site. Reading this thread, it's just twigged that MailPress stopped sending posts at the same time that I started religiously using featured images.

Here's a log entry for one such post:

    Any ideas?
    Thanks, Graham

I've looked deeper into this, and found a fix/workaround. The problem seems to be related to MailPress's attempts to reproduces the TwentyTen theme's bad habit of changing the header image to the featured image; which almost certainly isn't what you want anyway. See this article for how to fix it.

    Cheers,
    Graham
