[Plugin: Local Market Explorer] Not releasing query, interferes with sidbar widg (5 posts)

Having troubles with LME not releasing the posts query so my recent posts widget in th sidebar repeats LME data rather than latest posts. http://www.burienremax.com/tracykrueger/local/ballard/seattle/wa/

I'd prefer not to hack the plugin and forgot how to clear the query. I could paste some code into my template. I'd appreciate any help you can offer since Diverse Solutions doesn't appear to want to support this plugin (just an assumption from lack of plugin homepage, contact info etc).

    Scott-
Drew from Zillow here. I want to set the record straight on something first -- this plugin was a joint effort between Education.com and Zillow. While the two developers (Andrew Mattie and Jon Mabe) that built this plugin both have day jobs with Diverse Solutions, they built this plugin as independent contractors and were paid for their time by Zillow/Education.com.

Given all the different WordPress themes, plugins, PHP settings, database versions, etc -- we can't ensure that the plugin will work as is for everyone and it's up to you to get it working in your specific environment. Of course, we do want to get feedback and will make a reasonable effort to fix bugs that come up. All that said, I'll have Andrew leave a few thoughts as to the development side of your issue...

As far as your issue goes, there unfortunately isn't a quick or simple workaround that I can think of at the moment to fix this. The problem is that the WordPress hook I'm using to load the content can be used in a number of different places (including the recent posts module you're using), and since this hook can't be reliably deactivated without breaking the module on some sites with other plugins installed, I have to figure out a different way of loading the comment. I actually encountered this same issue in a plugin I'm actually developing for Diverse Solutions. Once I figure out a way to work through it, I'll port the fix over to Local Market Explorer.

Within the next few days, I plan on switching the plugin to a donation-supported development module where donations from the community will fund further development of the module. You'll see a public notice in a couple of places once the donation system has been set up.

Additionally, I'd appreciate it if you could detail your issue at the User Voice page I set up for the plugin. You can find it here: localmarketexplorer.uservoice.com. That way I'll be able to easily mark off once it's done.

I will not use any plug-ins which are offered by Zillow or Trulia. Agents... get with the program! This is the "wolf in sheep's clothing"! All you do, as the agent that downloads their user friendly widgets is create one way links to THEIR site, giving your client an opportunity to leave your website and shop around on Zillow or Trulia; it's a lose/win, and you end up the loser. Ask your self, how much free advertising and exposure do you want to give Trulia and Zillow? Why would you offer a widget which offers your customer the opporunity to leave your site? The more traffic you and other agents can direct to their site, the more they can charge YOU in advertising to get them back! "Hello" is anyone home???

I see frequent post from Drew Myers on numerous real estate websites. Drew Myers is not here to help your business, he is here to help his own (Zillow)... under the guise of "I am one of you".

Wow... thanks guys for taking a look. I've run into the issue elsewhere as well and don't have the php skills to troubleshoot.

lucky, I appreciate the warning, but I think the time these fine gentlemen spent replying speaks volumes to their perspective that we can benefit each other. I have had no complaints from agents, only raves at the ease of adding such interactive tools.
