   This plugin gives you a contact form for free - but to activate the chat functionality, you must sign up and pay a $20 fee every month, or $240 a year - if I haven't misunderstood?

   Hi,

   It says the following:

   "This plugin creates a trial account limited to 2 live chats per day. Upgrade for unlimited chats."

   - so you get 2 chats per day for life.

   If you'd like to increase your daily chat quota to unlimited chats, then that requires the subscription as you have stated.
