  • Hi Sana,

I tried to get the mentioned WMS service to work but didnt succeed either. I guess it is because as stated on http://wms.jpl.nasa.gov:
This server no longer provides full WMS services for any of the datasets.

Best thing if you want to get this layer to work is to get in contact with the guys/ladies at wms.jpl.nasa.gov.

If you succeed, please add your layer to the doc on mapsmarker.com/wms

Sorry for not being able to help you here, but WMS configuration really can differ from provider to provider and the best thing is to get in contact with them directly. Often, there´s a wiki or faq-list where you find the needed parameters. Anyway, in general the GetCapabilities-file (e.g. http://wms.jpl.nasa.gov/wms.cgi?Service=WMS&Version=1.1.1&Request=GetCapabilities) gets you a list of which layers are available.

Thanks for the quick reply Robert.

But last time, I was trying to configure with different WMS providers (from source2:http://geoserver.org/display/GEOS/Available+WMS+and+WFS+servers) but no success. Only the list you made it (mapsmarker.com/wms) was working fine.

Could you explain any example by picking up WMS server from the source 2 or another source (in relation to North America/Canada etc) and add it to the (mapsmarker.com/wms)doc or reply to me. So that I can understand how to configure it, what parameters need to used from URL string of WMS server etc.

    For instance:

From my understanding, In Leaflet Maps Marker, I need 3 parameters for sure (if not, could you explain what parameters are compulsory?):

    1) base URL 2) format 3) version

so If I use this WMS server URL string (http://www2.dmsolutions.ca/cgi-bin/mswms_gmap?VERSION=1.1.0&REQUEST=GetCapabilities), parameters require for the Leaflet Maps Marker WMS configuration will be (if not, could you please explain what parameters would be)

    Name: DM Solutions GMap Server

    Base URL: http://www2.dmsolutions.ca/cgi-bin/mswms_gmap

    VERSION=1.1.0

Format (not sure) Or I have to ask to the providers about the format.

Since I am new user of using WMS Servers, let me explore more about WMS URL string configuration until I get reply from you.

    Regards
    Sana

    Hi Sana,

well – I am also quite new to WMS, so I don´t know all about it yet (although there is also a possibility, that there are still some bugs in my plugin;-)

Nethertheless I got 2 different WMS layers working, as you can see here:
    http://www.mapsmarker.com/2012/01/05/demo-maps-with-wms-layers/

Here´s the WMS configuration for the first map (Pegelstand Sachsen):
    baseurl: http://www.umwelt.sachsen.de/umwelt/infosysteme/ags/services/wasser/gewaesserpegelmessnetz/MapServer/WMSServer
    Layer: 0
    Format: image/png
    Transparent: TRUE
    Version: 1.3.0

And here the configuration for the third map (US Weather):
    BaseURL: http://mesonet.agron.iastate.edu/cgi-bin/wms/nexrad/n0r.cgi?
    Layers: nexrad-n0r-m45m
    Format: image/png
    Transparent: TRUE
    Version: 1.1.1

My first guess was that there is a problem with WMS servers using .cgi in the baseurl – but that was wrong. So I don´t currently know, why some WMS layers don´t work. Please let me know, if you find something new!

    Hi Robert

Could you tell me why your export tools not working e.g., “Export as KML, etc.”, when I click any of them, I got the message as follow:

“The WordPress plugin Leaflet Maps Marker is inactive on this site and therefore this API link is not working”.

Could you explain little about this error.

    Best Regards

    Sana

I changed the method for checking if the plugin is active in v1.4 (did I mention I hate how different paths can be? 😉 – please try again and tell me, if this solved your problem!
