I saw a series of strange error messages on my site home page this evening after I had updated to version 1.4.3 of Kcite. Also I saw similar error messages when I tried to log in to the dashboard. I promptly raised a support ticket with Tsohost. Darren on the helpdesk (who is a star!) soon had a solution:

    >You had the character 'w' in front of the first PHP line in
    /home/departuo/public_html/wp-content/plugins/kcite/kcite.php

    >Hence the error. I've removed this for you, and the site appears to be OK now.

I have tried to contact the developers, but their site (http://knowledgeblog.org) appears to be down.

knowledgeblog.org got hacked I am afraid. The main site has been down
for a while, and I am currently having great fun trying to get it back up, which is rather taking all of my knowledgeblog associated time.

The "w" is a known issue; and fixed in our development version. I'll push a fix to wordpress as soon as I can. In the meantime, just delete the "w" from the kcite.php.

Thanks for reporting. Sorry for bother!
