    Hello, we use the jwplayer pluggin to server xml playlists. These playlists point to content on amazon and so the urls generated are signed expiring urls.

    The problem is, the client browser will not reload the playlists that it's loaded before, because there is a solution as outlined in this longtail forum thread where you append a random ending to the file parameter, in order to fool the browser into always reloading the file.

    On the jwplayer pluggin, we use the shortcode to set the playlist parameter;

    [jwplayer file="http://playlists.myserver.com/playlists/dvagil.xml"]

    Is there a way to implement the randomized ending solution on the wordpress side?

    @tsem,

    There isn't a way to do this via the plugin right now, although that seems like it would be a good feature to add in the future. I will make a note of it.

    The only way I can see right now is to write some custom php code which generates the shortcode dynamically and adds the random string. I'm not sure how comfortable you are with PHP though.

    Thanks.
