• Hi everyone,

I want to import all my joomla articles to worpress and I used the Migrator. I got all my posts running with images, but I use three different languages in joomla: english, arabic and tigrinya[eritrean language] and only the english article show up right. The other two Languages show only as “???? ??? ? ?? ??? ? ??? ? ?? ??? ?“.

Does anyone know a solution for this proplem???

If i write a new post in arabic or tigrinya wordpress shows it right.

  • That’s encoding issue are your languages in UTF-8, if not you should changed DB connection Character SET or “NAME SET”

I checked 2 times my db charset – both bases are utf8-general. Still have problem with russian language site migrating. It shows only [????]

    I get the same problem.

When I try to migrate the joomla 1.0.12 site to wp, all posts are cut when the process see a “é” character.

I did a ” .. convert to character set utf8 collate utf8_general_ci ;” on my joomla base but the bug’s still here.

Ok seems you should ask gConverter to convert your Joomla to WordPress, they will do that in few hours, check this out Joomla to WordPress, they are converting all components, Articles, Sections, Categories, Users, even Tags, Comments, posts with youtube and other videos, mp3 and other audio files, Photos of flicker …

It’s a good plugin anyway, it make me save lot’s of time. Bye !

Could you let us know what other plugin helped you accomplished this as I’m having a similar problem with posts being imported incomplete when special characters are used even using utf8 for both Joomla and WP databases (which they are both set to)

    Thanks
