• Hi guys,

I have been setting up a wordpress site and have also chosen to use the job-manager. I have managed to set things up but have run into an issue when testing the job application process end to end.

When I fill out the application and upload a word doc I receive the following message:

Thank you for your application. While your application doesn’t fit our current requirements, please contact us directly to see if we have other positions available.

I am not sure what is deciding that the application has not met requirements as I am not sure where to specify them?

    Please help

    JD

This occurs if your application doesn’t match the rules specified.

In your wp-admin, go to Job Manager->Settings->App. Form Settings, and check the Submit Filter column for anything that may have prevented the application.

    Hi Gary

I get the same message than JD_Silverlight from Job Manager. I have done what you suggested and clear out all Submit Filter setting to be on the save side. However, I still receive the same message. Any suggestions?
For the rest, it seems if the plugin is working fine, Thanks for a nice job.

In the same form, do you have any fields with “Mandatory field?” checked? These fields must be filled in when the form is submitted. Uncheck this box to remove this requirement.

    Hi Gary

Done so, cleared all the fields and unchecked all “Mandatory Fields”. Everything worked fine. However, when I checked the “Mandatory Fields” again, the message return. It seems to me that when certain field types are checked, it generates the message. I will experiment a bit by check/uncheck certain field types to determine if I cannot identify the hick-up. Probably I use some combination that generate this message. If you are interested I will post my “findings” at a later stage.

Thanks anyhow for the information and by the way, the more functions I can get going the more impressive this plugin seems to be.

I’d appreciate any more feedback you have – I’m hoping to have a bugfix release out in the next few days, a fix for this would be good to include.

    Hi Gary
I must admit after some experimentation it seems that the “bug” still remains. But what I found after I used a creative language was that, tugged away at the bottom of the form was a mandatory heading field. I didn’t scroll properly through the form and missed that field. Once unchecked, every thing performs as it should.

Thanks again for a neat peace of work.

Great to hear you found the problem! We all do things like that sometimes. 🙂

We’ve recently had a situation where someone posted a job app, and got this message:

Thank you for your application. While your application doesn’t fit our current requirements, please contact us directly to see if we have other positions available.

From their view, we received the application, since it says “Thank you for your application”. However, the application does not appear in the Job Manager control panel. Do applications simply get deleted in case of this message?

I found that this message also shows up if you have ANYTHING in the 2 fields underneath the ‘mandatory’ checkbox. Not sure what the fields are for…but once i cleared them out, the message went away.
I still am able to use the ‘mandatory’ checkbox as appropriate…just can’t put anything in the boxes below.

I have removed ALL mandatory fields and dumped all caches.

I still receive this notice on ANY application.

    Any news on this issue?
