While the spelling check recognizes American, Canadian and British spellings, it currently uses American as the suggestion.

The only way to avoid getting this message is to click the link to Ignore those suggestions.

Surely that’s not quite right…I am seeing CORRECTLY spelt words ending in -ise flagged as MISSPELT wordswith the correction offered as -ize.

It is NOT recogniSing UK spelling!
The spell checker is not just offering US spelling for a misspelt word..it is defining UK spelling as WRONG. Which is annoying as it means lots of false positives in a post..

I confirmed that the spell and grammar checker in Jetpack does recognize US and UK spellings, i.e. both -ize and -ise. Your browser’s spell checker may also be active. Please check that your browser’s spell checker is set to UK.

To invoke Jetpack’s spell checker, click the checkmark/ABC in the lower right corner of the text box. This spell checker will give you solid underlines (red for spelling and blue for grammar). If you’d like, please link to a screenshot and I can check whether Jetpack’s or another spell check is at work. Thanks.
