It's surprising to me that you can't disable specific modules. I would love to use the statistics but I don't want the social media stuff on every site. Not to mention the other elements going on...
Until that functionality is built in I don't think this plugin is the right choice for us.
You can turn off individual modules. If you go to your Dashboard and to Jetpack -> Jetpack, click on the Learn More button of the module you would like to disable. A Deactivate button should then appear, which will turn that module off.
