I'd love to be able to add a 'Like' button to the site just like the one on the free wordpress. I found a very similar addon to this but it is no longer being maintained: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/gravatar-like/screenshots/ and when I activate it, the plugin breaks my sidebar.

Any chance we can see this option in the near future?

I would also like to see this function available for self-hosted wordpress blogs. I was able to activate the Gravatar Like plugin, but nothing happens when you click on it.

This is one of the features that we have on the roadmap for Jetpack. There is no set date for when it might arrive in Jetpack, though please know we are always working on bringing new features in.

Agreed! That would be great to have. I started out with a free site and upgraded to self hosted but lost all my previous likes and followers.

I use the Plugin "I recommend this" and it works perfectly fine as it should. I changed to complete design and the image for the LIKE via CSS with no problem.

Maybe a solution for some of you.

The Gravatar Like plugin has started working again but each time someone wants to use it, they need to enter their email (each time) so it's not as good and the Gravatar images provide no other info. They also stay blank if there's no image associated with the person so you have no idea who liked the post.

The free wordpress one is exactly what I've been missing and would be so much better since it integrates into the other stats. Also, when highlighting their Gravatar image, it will at least tell you their user names. Not to mention the 'like' image even looks better.

Look forward when you can make this happen.

First of all THANK YOU for adding the 'Like' feature to the latest version of Jetpack. I've been waiting a long time for it.

I have a question though, in transferring my blog from the free WordPress to the self-hosted one, I lost a lot of likes on my old posts. Is it possible to have those all transferred to the new site?

@Cymre It's not possible to transfer Likes from one site to the other at the moment, but we're working on it!

Hi - apologies for joining the conversation so late but this is exactly the function I'm missing on my site since I went to self-hosting and I really really want it back and can't find enough people discussing it.

How do I get the WordPress Like It button back via Jetpack please? Or is there a code I can put in the CSS to reinstall it?

Any help appreciated! Thanks! site is http://www.brightershadeofgreen.co.uk

How do I get the WordPress Like It button back via Jetpack please?

Likes were added to Jetpack a few months ago, in version 2.2:
    http://jetpack.me/2013/02/26/jetpack-2-2-likes/

You can configure Likes by going to Settings > Sharing in your dashboard.

If you experience issues, please start your own thread, as per the Forum Welcome?

    Thank you!
