This is a great idea and first attempt at a plugin.
Before it's usable, however, I'd like to offer these suggestions:
- save categories used as well as the post text by default
- ability to select only level N categories (I have lots of subcategories but only want the top level to be in the roundup)
- skip categories with 0 posts
- schedule automatic post roundup every N days/weeks/etc
If you have the above, your plugin will be priceless! Until then, it's too much work, at least for me (I have 100+ categories, where I need to select maybe 10).
