[Plugin: Improved Include Page] Shortdoce ignored in included pages (6 posts)

I have a template that uses Improved Include Page to create a sidebar. it's done by using the IIP code int he template itself (I am not calling it via shortcode in posts). However, any shortcode used in the page that is being included does not work when pulled into the template via the IIP plugin.

Example, look at this page and mouse over the link towards the bottom of the right-hand sidebar that says "Bellingham Whatcom County Group Tour Manual" and you will see that the URL has shortcode in it. That particular shortcode works when used within the main pages of the site, so I know it's not an issue with that code, it's when it gets included via IIP.

I DO have an older version of the plugin because the person before me customized it and I am working to un-do the reliance on that, so until I get it undone, I can't upgrade the plugin.

Does the most recent version of the plugin fix this problem?

Since upgrading to WordPpress MU 3.0 the Improved Include Page no longer recognizes the code to include a page on another page. I've used this extensively for navigation menus for the Indianapolis restaurant section.

What do I need to do to get this working ASAP?

mWoods' issue is NOT the same issue I am having... the shortcode to USE Improved Include Page works for me, but if the page I am including has shortcode in it, THAT shortcode doesn't get parsed.

So, lancemonotone, is your fix intended to resolve mWoods' issue or mine?

    Thanks!!

Your issue was the same problem I was having. If you want to test it, you can make a copy of your current plugin folder and store it outside the plugin directory, install the updated plugin and make the fixes I outlined. If it doesn't work, just delete the updated plugin folder and restore the old one...please let me know what happened.

I read your thread again and unless I'm not understanding something, it's not the same issue at all.

The Improved Include Page shortcode works for me. It's when the page being included contains shortcode that it doesn't work right. The page is still included as it should be, but the shortcode within the included page does not parse.

View this page, and mouse over/click the link that says "Bellingham Whatcom County Group Tour Manual" and see that it works: http://www.bellingham.org/index.php/event_planning/right-sidebar

Now go to this page, and see that the above page is included in the right-hand column. However, mousing over or clicking the "Bellingham Whatcom County Group Tour Manual" reveals that the shortcode used to generate that link is not being parsed (the link does not work as a result): http://www.bellingham.org/index.php/event_planning

Furthermore, my version is older than 0.4.7 (because a previous developer customized it and tied it into the theme design, so I can't upgrade until I un-do all of that) so I can't make the changes you suggest -- my original code doesn't have all of the lines you edit.

Did that make any more sense??
