Conflict with Events Manager after upgrade to WordPress 3.3.1? (14 posts)

After upgrading a client's website to WordPress 3.3.1, it seems Events Manager is causing a problem with shortcodes in pages called by Improved Include Page. I have deactivated all plugins and reactivated them one by one, and traced the issue to Events Manager.

With Events Manager active, shortcodes do not render on pages called by Improved Include Page. I am using WP Render Blogroll Links, Tubepress, and Comprehensive Google Map Plugin, and Improved Include Page to display pages containing content from the first three plugins. Improved Include Page continues to pull the heading of each page, but nothing from the shortcode is displayed.

I am running Improved Include Page 0.4.8.
This is true of Events Manager 5.0.41, through 5.0rc1. Downgrading to 4.305 has fixed the problem, and everything renders fine.

I am happy to provide any additional information I can that might help troubleshoot this problem- hoping I can help Events Manager fix the conflict if it's on their end.

I have the exact same problem with Events Manager and Widget Entries (which uses Improved Include Page). As soon as I read your post, I turned off Events Manager and the widget content immediately came back. This happened as soon as I updated my plugins and WordPress installation to 3.3.1.

    Widget entries: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/widget-entries/

I'll check the error log and see if I can find anything fishy.

Same problem here. With Events Manager active, shortcodes do not render on pages called by Improved Include Page.

what about the other way around, when you disable the other conflicting plugin(s)? does EM work then?

    Hi Marcus,

Yes, when I disable Improved Include Page, your plugin functions fine. it did take some gradual upgrading to get it to that point (my switch from vs 4 to vs 5 was not simple), but it's all functioning fine.

Should clarify that Event Press even works perfectly when IIP is active, it's just IIP that won't work anymore.

    It seems to be solved.

Unfortunately so far, not a peep from either plugin author that I've heard.

I've switched to using a PHP call rather than IIP, in most cases, because I couldn't find another way around it. In another client's case, where they need IIP short codes, we simply haven't updated Event Manager. Not ideal.

unless you can identify what we're doing wrong, not much else I can say.... the other author's plugin seems to be at fault here.

Marcus, thanks for that much. I'll pass it on to them, not much else I can do. I've given all the info I know how to give.

After I updated Events Manager the content in my widget entries don't show up. When I disable Event Manager, it works just fine. Did anyone figure out a solution?

I've posted a possible solution here http://wordpress.org/support/topic/conflict-with-widget-entries-plugin-due-to-wrong-em_content_pre-filter-call?replies=1#post-3424518 that solves the problem with Widget Entries for me.

Marcus, can you please give a look?
