squrler you are not alone.
I too have the WP Super Cache and HL Twitter plugins running and my tweets don’t automatically update. Very annoying.
Does anybody know how to fix this?
Hi both, I’m the author of HL Twitter. So far only a tiny handful of users have reported trouble with the automatic importer, and I haven’t been able to find a common cause. If you could some information about your WordPress set-up (version, PHP version, host OS(linux/win), and list of plugins) it would greatly help me solve this issue once and for all.
For now, there is a built-in fallback that you can use which requires setting up a cron job. Details are on the FAQ, near the bottom: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/hl-twitter/faq/
Sorry for any inconvenience this might have caused you both.
If I edit one of the files to establish a key, then that file will be overwritten with each update of the plugin.
Wouldn’t it be better to keep that key in the database?
I’ve set up a cron job, and I still don’t show any tweets a day later. I’m monitoring 30 Twitter users. They’ve had tweets in the past day, but this doesn’t appear to be working.
