[Plugin: Haiku minimalist audio player] Adding features to haiku ?

I like the minimalist aesthetic of the graphic player, but I need more features:

– pop-up volume slider/mute button*
– elapsed time readout
– total duration readout

* IMHO no player should be without this, because of the wide variety of playback systems. Otherwise, it’s easy to get blasted by loud sound.

If I understand the jplayer documentation correctly, all the above functions are included in the javascript code.

I’m wondering if it’s feasible for a newbie like me to add these features to haiku (I have a very basic familiarity with HTML and CSS and am just starting to learn about javascript) .

My guess is that’d be almost like making a completely new plug-in, but if anyone can shed light on this, I’d really appreciate it. I was hoping it might be as simple as ‘unlocking’ disabled features.
