Grunion Contact Form
Plugin Installed in Theme Folder - Can't Uninstall/Reinstall (2 posts)

I installed Grunion on a new site, and created a form. When I was in FTP, I noticed that the Grunion plugin wasn't listed in the plugins folder where I expected to see it.

After some searching, I found out that it had been installed in my current theme's /inc/3rdparty/ folder instead. When I tried to delete the folder containing the plugin, it took the site down completely (all blank pages). When I put the folder back, the site came back.

I tried re-installing the plugin to the proper directory (auto-install as well as manual), but couldn't activate it - kept getting the following error:

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare contact_form_parse() (previously declared in /siteroot/httpdocs/wp-content/themes/avalonstyle_1_5/inc/3rdparty/contact-form/grunion-contact-form.php:27) in /siteroot/httpdocs/wp-content/plugins/grunion-contact-form/grunion-contact-form.php on line 49

What would be the best way to uninstall the plugin manually (i.e., using the database to de-activate/delete before deleting the files)? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

    With thanks,
    -

I don't really have a clue but maybe check your theme's functions.php and see if there's a reference to Grunion in there.

Maybe they didn't put the logic in there: "if Grunion exists, do Grunion, otherwise don't do Grunion". They might have just put "do Grunion". Which could break your theme/site if Grunion didn't exist in the location they specified.

If it helps great. If it's not even close... well, make sure to keep a backup. ;)
