I'm unable to get the text to appear on my registration page - all the other encouragements appear to work.

You can try it on a test site here...

    http://www.artiss.co.uk/sandbox/wp-login.php?action=register

I've set the configuration to write the output after the email address. The source code shows the plugin in place.

Sorry for late reply. This is caused by setting on your server since I get this error in Javascript debugger:

XMLHttpRequest cannot load http://artiss.co.uk/sandbox/wp-content/plugins/gravatar-signup-encouragement/gravatar-check.php. Origin http://www.artiss.co.uk is not allowed by Access-Control-Allow-Origin.

Ok. So what do I need to do to fix it?

I don't know. Try with your admin or look for help on Google, I didn't experience this error.

From what I can see it appears to be a security restriction because my host limits what I can do across domains. Except it's the same. Kind of. I notice that your plugin is using the http://artiss.co.uk domain, which is wrong. Is there any reason why it's not using http://www.artiss.co.uk? My WordPress isn't configured anywhere to use the non-www domain.

And you found what's going on. In your settings, you chose to use address without www. This means that WordPress will generate all URLs without www. But this link has www prefix.

So if you go to the same page but without www, everything works as expected.

You misunderstand - my settings have the site set up as http://www.artiss.co.uk, so the plugin shouldn't be dropping off the "www".

True, http://www.artiss.co.uk/ does have www but http://artiss.co.uk/sandbox/ doesn't. Those too are different sites.
