    Also, it would be nice to have an option to generate the sitemap.xml on the fly rather than writing it into the file system. The resulting output can be easily cached.

    Check out the beta version. I'm not sure about the current stable release, but the beta most definitely does custom post types and generates on the fly. Make sure to go to settings > XML-Sitemap to choose which custom post types and taxonomies you want included.

    Hi, just started using this plugin. Two things:

    1) While I see the CPT being recognized, and I include it, it doesn't show up in my sitemap.xml.

    2) My custom taxonomy (categories for my CPT) is not being picked up. Only custom taxonomy is for "Format".

    Furthermore, the Priorities panel doesn't include any prioritization for CPTs.
