   For the XML-Sitemap Generator, I get an error saying that there was a problem writing the sitemap file. I know there are other topics, but none of them helped. I have the sitemap.xml and sitemap.xml.gz on the root of my website, from which I also run the blog. The CHMOD permissions are set to 666 by default to both files.

   When I try to change the CHMOD to 755 or 777 just in case that's the problem, everything appear successfuly, yet when I open the properties of the files again, their CHMOD is set back to the default 666.

   Please help, since I need this sitemap generator. Or if there's another, better working sitemap generator, please suggest it.

   you shouldn't need 7xx for those .. its a file. 7xx is for directories.

   Alright, since they don't change anyway, that's ok. However, I need the solution to the problem that the generator can't write the files.
