Background: Recently setup new WP site AAA as a sub-domain on Hostgator and it has been operating for a month no problem. I have the 'Google XML Sitemaps v3 for qTranslate' 'version' of this plugin installed on WP site BBB at a different host - works fine.
Issue: Installed this plugin on AAA yesterday and I get 'There was a problem writing your sitemap file. Make sure the file exists and is writable.' Have checked many times the location and permissions of the sitemap.xml file to no avail. Even set the file to 777.
Compared location and permissions of AAA sitemap.xml to BBB sitemap.xml and apart from BBB operating on 644, they look the same.
Despite the plugin showing what appears to be the correct location for the sitemap.xml file, I am wondering if there is an issue with it being a sub-domain on the Hostgator site? I am a newbie to WP and have exhuasted my scant knowledge. Couldn't find anything recent and directly relevant in forum.
