Hi,
I installed the plugin, activated it, and uploaded from Google Webmaster Tools onto my server the appropriate identifier. But how can I tell the thing actually works & that I've configured the plugin correctly?
What should I be looking for?
Thanks!
Richard

Look at your sitemap online.

Hi,
Thanks for your input. I get '404 Not Found' when I enter either:
http://beaconreports/sitemap.xml
http://beaconreports/wordpress/sitemap.xml
On the other hand, under Google Webmaster's Tools/Site Config/Sitemaps I get the following:
Sitemap Status Type Downloaded URLs submitted URLs in web index
beaconreports.net/wordpress/?bwpsitemap=page
Errors -- Jan 17, 2012 -- --
beaconreports.net/wordpress/?bwpsitemap=post
OK Sitemap Jan 17, 2012 2 --
beaconreports.net/wordpress/?bwpsitemap=site
OK Sitemap Jan 17, 2012 1 1
beaconreports.net/wordpress/?bwpsitemap=taxonomy_category
OK Sitemap Jan 17, 2012 2 --
What do I need to change, if anything, to get sitemap working?
Many thanks.
Richard

My above reply did not display properly. I will try again below:
Sitemap Status Type Downloaded URLs submitted URLs in web index
beaconreports.net/wordpress/?bwpsitemap=page
Errors -- 17-Jan-12 -- --
beaconreports.net/wordpress/?bwpsitemap=post
OK Sitemap 17-Jan-12 2 --
beaconreports.net/wordpress/?bwpsitemap=site
OK Sitemap 17-Jan-12 1 1
beaconreports.net/wordpress/?bwpsitemap=taxonomy_category
OK Sitemap 17-Jan-12 2 --

One last attempt:
The above says that beaconreports.net/wordpress/?bwpsitemap=site was successfully submitted and one url is in the web index.
There was one error being beaconreports.net/wordpress/?bwpsitemap=page.
The remainder, not submitted, are marked 'OK'

OK, I had an error with my Sitemap.XML also. I couldn't find much about it on the Internet, so I deleted (using cPanel) my SitemapXML Plugin completely from my server, then downloaded a fresh copy of the plugin and installed it. Lo and behold, all worked perfectly. Give it a try.
