I'm sure this is a rookie question since I haven't seen the answer anywhere. My site has been accepted in Google News. I installed this plug-in in WordPress and activated it. But I'm not sure how to achiece step 3 in WP.
Step 3: Move the file "google-news-sitemap.xml" into your blog root directory and CHMOD to 777 so it is writable.
I'm in Edit Plugins, and I see the XML file, but I have no clue how to move it, and how to find the root directory. Lastly, what does it mean to CHMOD to 777? How does one do that?
Sorry for the probably silly questions.
Thanks.

Root directory is the highest level on your website...
i.e. http://www.yourwebsite.com/
You need a FTP client like Filezilla to FTP into your web server and move or create the google-news-sitemap.xml file in your root directory ( http://www.yourwebsite.com/google-news-sitemap.xml).
Once this is done you need to make sure it is writeable so that the contents is modified everytime you add a post etc. This is done again using an Filezilla - right click on the file, "File Permissions..." and change the numerical value to 777.

Mac users don't use Filezilla (do they?), while FTP for Macs like CyberDuck don't offer the right-click to change writeable permissions...
"Writeable permissions"--does this term even apply to Macs?
If so, how do Macs accomplish this (please)?
