[Plugin: Google Doc Embedder] [1.9] GDE Settings - not save options (8 posts)

I have updated GDE to the new 1.9 version, but now it's impossible save options in the Google Doc Embedder Settings... when click on "Save options", not save the new values (for example, 100% width).

Any ideas to resolve this issue? Thanks

izbuh, I'm not sure about this. I did make some significant changes to the settings in 1.9 to reduce database load, so I spent a whole week testing every possible variation I could of settings and upgrades/clean installs on several server types before releasing it. I haven't run into any occasion where the settings would not be saved.

I'd like to get to the bottom of that in whatever is unique about your scenario, but in the interest of getting it to work for you, perhaps you could try uninstalling it (that will remove any settings from the database as well) and performing a clean install of the plugin, and seeing if that works.

I have the same problem on my site.
After the upgrade I can no longer save any of the settings. I cannot set them back to defaults either.
I have also uninstalled and reinstalled and still have the error.

I have the same problem on my site.
I came back to the previous 1.8.2 release and solved my problem

Thanks for the reports. I'm sorry for this problem; I certainly did all I could to avoid it in testing. I still have not been able to reproduce the problem even with continued tests.

Please tell me what you can about your environments (WP version, PHP version, etc.). If anyone experiencing this problem is willing to work more directly with me via email to test some things, I'd be grateful. If so please get in touch with me via the support form and I'll follow up.

The problem is the global variable $options is also used by many other plugins and therefore there is an interference. I replaced all occurrences of this variable with $gdeoptions in the files "gviewer.php" and "options.php" and now it works as expected!

The fix above worked for me also. Thanks!

I believe the fix I implemented in 1.9.1 repairs this issue. Please confirm. :) An additional bug related to settings being lost on re-activation has also been fixed.

I apologize for this inconvenience, all. Thanks for using the plug-in and for reporting the problem you were having. Even with best efforts, I'm simply not able to test every situation before releases, so your feedback is greatly appreciated.
