It’s coming as an option soon, and it’s not as easy as you think 🙂
Awesome, looking forward to checking out that added functionality. Thanks Joost!
kennethreitz: there is an error in your plugin. line 12 should be
add_action('admin_menu', 'asyncga_menu');
Joost, 3 months have passed since the first post in this thread. How is async tracking coming along in your plugin?
Hi Joost
I just upgraded to the latest Google Analytics plug-in (3.2.5) hoping that the asynchronous script was a part of it… and now I’m here 😉
How’s the implementation going?
Thanks for a great plug-in!
Cheers
Stuart
i’ve written a short javascript that injects the asynchronous tracking correctly and uses it to track outbound clicks.

Are there any news concerning the new asynchronous tracking code support?
Best regards
Hi Joost
I just modified your Google Analytics plugin and added the new asynchronous tracking method… and now I’m here 😉
Please review my post about Asynchronous Google Analytics plugin for WordPress at http://www.minilibra.com/wordpress/plugins/analytics.html and Thanks for a great plug-in!

Would be great to have an option for the option to anynymize IPs. 😉
_gaq.push(['_anonymizeIp']);
Best regards
Hi Tom,.. finally the Asynchronous Google Analytics plugin released. Try it and make your remarks in the plugin support forums, I’ll answer and put any request on next released.. Thanks.
This was fixed with release 4.0, and has a whole lot more features than any other analytics plugin 🙂
I’m running version 4.09 and the Google Page Speed tools gives me the following message:
http://screenrant.com/ loads http://www.google-analytics.com/ga.js synchronously.
