I had to just go ahead and remove it. It was nice to look at and had terrific capacity, but it slowed the load time down tremendously. Don't want readers running off before a post is loaded. arghhh.

The toolbar is designed so it loads only after the page has finished loading. We are very conscious about not effecting the page performance. Are you sure it was the toolbar that was holding back the page? Can you see what request was delaying the page load?
