• Hi,

    Project:
    http://www.harneksingh.com

    Required :
    – A user should be logged in to view post/comment on post.
    – A user should be able to use the Facebook/LinkedIn/OpenID credentials.
    – A user need not be created with WordPress User Management.

    Trials:
    – Gigya Socialize Login Widget Code allows my user to create a new user account and login using 3rd party credentials. However, I just want them to login not create a new user account.
    – Gigya Socialize Connect Widget shows only at the login screen not in the sidebar and it shows that I am connected through Facebook however the blog still does not recognize that the user is logged in.

    Tools:
I am currently using WordPress 2.9.2 and Gigya 1.1.8.

I am sure I am doing something wrong at the very basic level. Any suggestion would be helpful.

    Regards
    Harnek Singh

  • I’ve only seen that using OpenID or the solutions using OpenID from Gigya or RPX use the OpenID to associate and create an account on your WordPress site. These solutions do not must temporarily “authenticate” a user to post a comment. But I agree it would be of interest if there was an OpenID solution that did just that…in fact I think there is a plugin but last I saw it was way behind on WP versions and no longer compatible.
