    Can this plugin help me with my problem, posting to a date prior to 1969? I mean, could I create a custom field and use that to sort my dates with archiving, rather than the one WP has built in that can't get past the PHP date limitation?

    Hi...

    Why can't I get this to work:

    <?php echo c2c_get_custom('the_permalink', '', '', the_permalink()); ?>

    What I'm trying to do is use a WP function/tag as what appears when there is nothing there. What results when there is nothing there is in fact the permalink. But when there is a value for "the_permalink," this is what I get

    [the real permalink][the_permalink custom field value] so something like;

    http://realcurrentpagepermalink.com http://customfieldvaluepermalink.com

    This is great. I'm just starting out with WP and I guess I expected the custom fields to be a little more powerful than they are. I've seen other people ask this, but didn't see an answer--is there a way to display all posts with a certain value? I use a custom field to rate movies and would like to link to a page that lists, say, all 5-star movies.

    Any advice would be much welcome. Thanks again for this fine plugin.

    Tend to suggest categories or tags in a scenario like that. You might be intrigued by something like Ultimate Tag Warrior plugin: http://www.neato.co.nz/ultimate-tag-warrior/

    In general, 95% of the time I think I've found a need for custom fields and custom field processing I trip over a plugin that does what I wanted. :-)

    Very interesting, HandySolo, I appreciate the response. UTW seems to do everything I need.
