    The css is not compatible with the sidebar in the news theme. There are some additional theme class to overwrite.

    Hi there!
    Thanx for the feedback!
    Which "News" version are you using, 1.x (released 2010) or 2.0 (released 2011)?

    Any URL handy?

    I'll look into the issue but please provide some URL also.

    Thanx, Dave :)

    @Francesco Canovi:
    Hi!
    I'm sorry for the delay! If it is still of interest or for user users, I just post a solution. The News Child Theme, both 1.x and 2.x versions have special styling applied to their list elements. This affecting the plugin styles.

    You just have to add something of the following style rules to your child theme's style.css file:

    /* Genesis Social Profiles Menu Plugin: Custom Styles
    ------------------------------------------------------------ */

    /* Background Color */
    .gspm-sp {
    	background: #666 !important;
    }

    /* Hover Color/ Effects */
    .gspm-sp:hover {
    	background: #ccc !important;
    }

    Also note, when using the StudioPress icon set you also have to add the helper class to the menu items (where you add the CSS classes in the menu), like so:

    twitter-sp-s24 gspm-sp

    Just use one space between the two classes.

    This way you add a background rule with "!important" addition overriding the original styling - but just for this special case, e.g. widget menu you're using, not affecting your other styling.

    I hope this helps your issue.

    Sorry again for the delay!

    -Dave :)
