   This is exactly what I am seeking, yet it does not appear to function with the 'Genesis Featured Widget Amplified' plugin. I am using the News child theme with the 'Genesis Featured Widget Amplified' plugin, but the auto-default featured images just aren't posting. Any tips? Many thanks for your work.

   Be sure you are using the ORIGINAL IMAGE.

   i am having the exact same issue. I am using the 'Genesis Featured Widget Amplified' plugin. and the default image will just not show.....

   Hello Jackama,

   Are you using the Original Image in the Featured Images Settings box? If not, then it won't work simply because of the way WP works. If possible send a screen shot of the settings.
