    hello,

i have been using GDstars with WP3 without any problems, until I just upgraded to v1.9.2.

now if i view my site in IE8 i cannot vote. If I hover over the stars they dont show up as being able to place a vote.

I have cleared the database to make sure it isnt because I have voted before and it still doesnt work.

If i view the page in Firefox it works perfectly.

    any ideas?

    thanks

    TED

I am 99% sure that problem is with your theme and some JavaScript or some CSS loaded by it or some other plugin. IE browsers can be a problem with complex JavaScript and CSS that easily override other code. You need to check what’s preventing GDSR code to run.

well it was working until this morning when I ran the automatic updater to take it to 1.9.2. so im guessing something has changed in the code for GDSR which is now conflicting with another plugin i have.

Im guessing it is relating to the wp_prettyphoto plugin, because when i have GDSR activated the prettyphoto plugin stops working also.

if i disable GDSR the prettyphoto starts to work again.

they were both working fine together when GDSR was on v1.9.1

Changes is GDSR 1.9.2 are very minor and they are only to fix the custom post types problems, nothing much is changed really. I have no idea how prettyphoto plugin is working, I never used it, but I doubt that changes I made to GDSR can cause problems. All changes in GDSR 1.9.2 are specific only to a widget page in WP admin and post edit page in WP admin. Nothing in front end used on blog side is changed (and it’s not changed for several months now).

    Many thanks for your help.

it would seem the problem was down to my IE8 not clearing out cookies properly, and there is an option in GDSR to use cookies to stop multiple voting. I didnt see this option.

I cleared out the cookie manually and also I am now using just logged IP’s and ignoring cookies and everything is working as it should.

    many thanks again!
