I upgraded by writing the purchased FT Calendar folder over the free version, and now the calendar date appears twice in the post. When viewing the source I can see <div id='ftcal_post_schedule'> twice.
Do I need to uninstall and then reinstall? Will that blow out existing calendar data?
That is odd... try deleting the ft-calendar folder entirely and uploading the premium version. You won't lose the existing calendar data by doing this.

I did that and both dates are there again. This is a custom single.php for a Genesis child theme, so perhaps that is calling it twice? The dates are appearing above and below the custom field values that were added in the single.php.
