I am having the same problem described in this thread.
However, what I notice is that if I ‘click’ on the right margin of the slideshow (in the text area), the photos begin to loop properly.
However, if I leave the slideshow page, go to another page and then come back to the slideshow, it is stuck in a continual loop and will not load photos.
Your thoughts?

And me too.
My slideshow is on the front page, but clicking on the home menu tab causes it to show the looping animation.

Of course, I find my solution straight after posting the message.
In my case, there was a conflict with the theme I’m using, Atahualpa 3.5.3. I switched off all the fancy javascript header code (fading/swapping images etc), and the slideshow works like a dream.

Hmm. Works fine in Firefox on the Mac. It looks likely that it’s a Safari on the Mac problem. Unfortunately, it is not a consistent problem – sometimes it works ok, sometimes it doesn’t.
Just stumbled upon this thread after encountering the same problem. Slideshow loads on initial viewing just fine, but after navigating around the site and coming back to the slideshow page, just the loading image.
This happens in Safari and Firefox on the Mac and Firefox in WinXP. Exploder in XP seems to work fine.
Caching issue? Anybody find a resolution?

Upgraded to FireFox 4.0 and all is working correctly now… Thank God!
I had the same problem on Safari and Firefox, images loading on initial opening and then forever loading when I return to the page. I seem to have fixed it by inserting the image in the actual post as opposed to using the Slideshow options below it – ‘Click here to load the image selector and choose an image.’ I also changed my images to .png (as suggested in other post) but don’t know if that made any difference.
I had similar problem, images doesn’t load in IE. I deactivated Contact Form 7 plugin and now they load.
I have a fix for this…

I’m not good enough to figure this out on the PHP end of it… lol if someone has that I would love to get it!
