    Hi there,

I’ve got the plugin installed and works great on the homepage but I’d like to load it on a page and can’t get the info or background pictures to load. Is there a way to accomplish this?

The goal is to use this plugin as a mini presentation on a page meant to list my client’s services. Ie. If a user was to click on the services link, it leads them to a page that loads this plugin which stylishly presents the different services that they offer.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

  • Is there more than one slideshow on the page ? if yes : only the first will work, the others wont ; if not… give me your plugin unique ID that you will find into the administration page, at the very end of the “how to use – getting help” section in order to allow me to get more infos about your website configuration and how to troubleshoot

    Hi Jeff,

I currently have another plugin (Carousel) on the home page and am only using this one once on another page.

    PluginID – 1188

Hum… Plugin ID don’t give me that much elements… Usually, there are absolutely no problems with including the slideshow on any page… And as your theme seems to be made specially for you, and your website is not accessible… I can’t discover things by myself…

Do you have any javascript error when the pages are loading ? generally, the plugin is not working fine when some jQuery javascript file are added badly by the theme or some other plugin. The javascript errors can help us to find who’s messing.

Have you seen this post ? http://wordpress.org/support/topic/322689

I have made the site accessible. The page that it’s supposed to go on is in the services section.

As for errors, I haven’t noticed any showing up whenever I try to load the page. I disabled all of the plugins that were installed to try and troubleshoot it yesterday but ended up with the same result.

If I set the page that it’s currently on as a ‘home page’ in WP, it shows up properly. When I set it back up to how it was, it doesn’t load the slides properly.

To clarify, the buttons show up fine on the right hand side but the fs-comment and background image don’t load. All I see is the loading circle animation.

Forgot to mention this, it’s located on the ‘government programs’ subpage.

Just checked on another computer with an older browser and found the following error msgs on Internet Explorer..

    Line:96
    Char:2
Error:Object doesn’t support this property or method
    Code:0

    I’m on it… stay tuned

Got it : not a problem from the plugin : a javascript file is loaded badly with this line :

    <script language="javascript" type="text/javascript" src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.2.6/jquery.min.js"></script>

I don’t know if it is added by another plugin or by the theme, but this script is messing up.
You can remove this line safely from your theme (if this line is added by your theme) as jQuery is already loaded earlier.

    Not a Frontpage-slideshow plugin bug.

Perfect thanks! I actually just came across another issue that I’m not sure if it’s CSS related or the plugin itself. In Internet Explorer the tabs or buttons on the right side are below the slide show.

    Everything looks perfect on FireFox.

    Perfect thanks!

nuthin’ consider to donate πŸ˜€ (joke)

… and yeah, smells like CSS problem (IE got plenty of that kind) try to lower the image or button width (not with!) by 1 or 2 pixels.

    Everything looks perfect on FireFox.

    as usual !

No worries, I’ll be sending one through shortly.
    Thanks for the help

it was a joke, don’t feel obliged to do so because I said!

    Glad I could help

Haha nah – I appreciate the help. Is there an easy way to get the live version to look exactly like the admin preview section? The live version seems to have about 20 px between the right edge of the picture and where the button begins. However in the preview, the two are almost touching.

I can’t seem to find the css settings to make it look right. Is there a magic number that makes things look right? Internet Explorer is so frustrating. I can’t believe how different the output looks like between IE7 and IE8.

Unfortunately, there is absolutely no way to get the exactly same thing in admin and live display 100% of time : its about the cascade of styles that can touch the slideshow elements by many ways.

If you want to troubleshoot, I advise you to use the “Web developer” tool bar for Firefox or the buil-in equivalent in IE8 + compatibility mode to know exactly wich css rule is affecting the different part of the slideshow.

You could also put a special ruleset for IE by inserting some conditional comments.

Into futures versions I will try to isolate the elements of style slideshow using stronger rules… but I need time for that.
