[Plugin: Front-end Editor] Some widgets not working (others do) in same sidebar (4 posts)

    I've only just started playing with this plugin. On my current test site, some of the widgets have the ability to edit their contents, but others within the same sidebar, do not. Is there something that needs to be added to the widget to makes sure it works properly? What about widgets created by plugins?

    I have double-checked and

    'before_widget' => '<div id="%1$s" class="widget %2$s">',
    	'after_widget' => '</div>',

    is there. I can see the appropriate div tags on the page in firebug, but only the editable widgets have the span class necessary for editing.

    I'm testing this on a beta build of wp 3.0 and version 1.8 of the front-end editor plugin. I also have a couple custom widgets I've written specific to my site, but they're not providing editable regions either.

    If you have a chance, check it out here:

    Thanks for your time! Beautiful plugin with tons more potential!

    Currently, only the widget title can be made editable, without needing to modify Front-end Editor.

    If you take a look at the default widgets, you'll notice that they all apply a filter on their title, like so:

    $title = apply_filters( 'widget_title', empty($instance['title']) ? '' : $instance['title'], $instance, $this->id_base);

    Do the same with your widget's title and it will magically become editable. ;-)

    Good news: all widgets will be fully editable in the next version.

    You can have a sneak peak at this feature by installing the development version (1.9a).

    Scribu,
    This is fantastic! Tested on wp 3.0-beta with multi-site and it's totally rockin' the widget customization! Congrats to you! Looking forward to the further development of this plugin!
